As we approach the end of the year, it is a timely opportunity to reflect on the past 12 months. As lives and livelihoods continue to feel the effects of the pandemic, both our personal and business connections share the common ground of trying to overcome the challenging circumstances that have tested all of us for nearly two years. Looking ahead to 2022 with hope, but still a lingering sense of uncertainty, it’s important to acknowledge our collective resilience during 2021.
Since March 2020, effective communications have been central to business continuity for organisations and economic recovery. This year, AM O’Sullivan PR has seen continued growth in the areas of issue and crisis management, reputation management, and internal communications. Media relations is busy, photocalls have been taking place, and we’re gradually seeing the return of events, albeit in a hybrid or virtual capacity. What shines through for me is the adaptability of businesses and organisations – and their people. So many organisations diversified their offering, both to stay afloat and, where possible, to help their communities during the pandemic. I also see adaptability in my own team at AM O’Sullivan PR who, like many professionals worldwide, adjusted to remote and hybrid working environments, while continuing to maintain our high standards of communication and productivity.
From a communications industry perspective, being a member of IPREX, the global communication platform, has given me a forum to discuss best practice with international colleagues. These global connections are invaluable, both for AM O’Sullivan PR and our clients. Every organisation across the world has had to alter its objectives and operations in some way over the last two years. Both internal and external communications have been intrinsic to enabling those transitions. Through IPREX, we have been able to share our experiences with peer agencies located all over the world, while also gaining invaluable insights which we have been able to share with our clients.
As a communications partner and trusted advisor to large indigenous and multinational clients, AM O’Sullivan PR is fortunate to work with a number of leading life sciences companies. Many of our clients have been making a significant contribution to the global fight against COVID-19, and for us it has been a supremely rewarding experience to have helped support their operations over the last two years.
As we look to 2022, I believe that our collective resilience, adaptability, connections and communication will continue to guide us as we navigate a changing landscape.
Please note that our offices will close on Thursday, December 23rd 2021, and will reopen on Tuesday, January 4th, 2021 at 9am.
Wishing you and yours a safe and peaceful holiday season and a prosperous new year.
