IPREX Holds EMEA Regional Conference in Cork

Research conducted by IPREX ahead of the conference found that 59% of global organisations are conducting their business in the EMEA region, with 37% of that business taking place in Ireland and the UK. The report also found that 20% of communicators feel they do not have enough employees to keep up with the workload.

IPREX is a $508 million network of communication agencies with more than 1,100 communications professionals in more than 100 markets globally. This year’s EMEA Regional Conference included the launch of the IPREX Global Report, which features insights drawn from over 430 business leaders from 28 countries. IPREX, the premier global communications and PR network, today launched its Global Report at the EMEA Regional Conference being held in Cork. The conference takes place from September 13th – 15th at the Metropole Hotel. IPREX is a $508 million network of communication agencies with more than 1,100 communications professionals in more than 100 markets globally.

Earlier this year, IPREX commissioned a report, The State of Global Communications and Marketing 2023. The data is drawn from the responses of over 430 business leaders from twenty eight countries around the world. The report examines the current state of play for the global communications industry, the key challenges facing the industry and the outlook for the future. Highlights include that over 20% of communicators identified budget and too few people to do the work as the key challenges they are currently facing.

The EMEA Regional Conference coincides with the 40th anniversary of the founding of IPREX. AM O’Sullivan PR is the host partner for this year’s EMEA Regional Conference. This year, AM O’Sullivan PR Founder and CEO, Ann-Marie O’Sullivan, took over the role of IPREX Global President. 30 international delegates are expected to attend the conference in Cork.

Conference attendees will hear from several speakers on a range of topics including content creation for video and podcast, influencer marketing, sustainability, looking to the future and the impact of AI.

“When people think of AI, and generative AI in particular, they think of the immediate impact on skills like content creation. That’s just the beginning. AI is like tossing a pebble into a pool – the ripples extend over a vast area,” according to Ellen Gunning, guest speaker and CEO of Mettacomm. “As a data prophet, I’m fascinated by the extent to which our lives will change. The positives are terrific – longer and healthier lives, but the potential negatives around lack of ethics, equality and equity need to be discussed now.  We need to ensure that the intelligence that we create benefits the whole of society – and that’s a global challenge.”

Guests will also hear from a range of Irish media experts and journalists, including Sheila Reilly, Irish Examiner and Fiona Corcoran, Healy Communications, who will paint a picture of Ireland’s media landscape for the delegates.

“The IPREX EMEA Regional Conference showcases the strength of both Cork, as an ever growing communications hub, and IPREX as the leading global communications network. It is a massive honour to host the EMEA Regional Conference, particularly given the fact that IPREX celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. It is also a great opportunity to showcase the best of Cork to our guests, who have travelled from all around the world to attend,” commented Ann-Marie O’Sullivan, IPREX Global President and CEO of AM O’Sullivan PR.
